Tips/Hints: Getting Started

When you first start the game, the only thing you can do is light a fire. This is something you will do often throughout the game. Lighting the fire will reheat the room and save the game. After stoking the fire, a stranger will walk in and leave the door open to let you access the forest and collect wood to continue stoking the fire whenever needed.

Tips/Hints: Build a cart

The stranger is a carpenter and can build you a cart to make gathering wood easier and quicker.

After you've collected enough wood, build traps to catch animals (which can then be used to bait bigger animals).

Get enough supplies to build a tannery, then a smokehouse, and then staff those buildings before venturing deeper into the woods.
